HOC is dedicated to the treatment of blood disorders and cancer.
Hematology concerns the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases.
Some examples of hematologic diseases that we treat are:

Oncology is the branch of medicine that studies tumors (cancer) and seeks to understand their development, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Onsite Laboratory
As part of your treatment, you will need to have various lab tests performed on a regular basis. In an effort to streamline and simplify the treatment process, a large majority of the required lab tests will be done in our on-site laboratory. This allows you the convenience of going to one place, while affording our physicians the ability to receive your results much faster, with less outside interference.
In the event that we cannot perform your lab tests in house due to insurance constraints, we will send them directly to Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp via courier. This saves you a trip to an outside lab. Then, the results are forwarded directly back to our office via a secure connection in a few days.

Cancer Support Group
Dealing with cancer is hard for both patients and family members. That’s why we believe strongly in support groups. Support groups provide patients and families with information, guidance and an understanding of living thorough cancer.
Our support group is open to patients as well as family members. The meetings take place in our Greenbelt office and cover a variety of topics. Most meetings are led by our nurse practitioner and nurse manager. To confirm the date and time of our next meeting please contact our office at 301-982-9800.
